Reddy (2025) conducted a study comparing two treatments for severe pain episodes in children with sickle cell disease (SCD). The trial involved children aged 3 to 15 years who experienced intense pain during these episodes. Participants were treated with either intravenous ketorolac or morphine, and their pain levels were monitored over 12 hours.

Both treatments showed similar effectiveness in reducing pain, with no major differences in side effects. The study concluded that ketorolac could be a safe and effective alternative to morphine for managing pain in children with SCD, offering more treatment options for families and caregivers.
